Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
A Corinthians official has confirmed that Brazil striker Pato is attracting interest from Arsenal.
The Gunners recently met a Corinthians official to inquire about the former AC Milan forward’s availability.
Arsenal are keen to strengthen their squad in January and Pato is on Wenger’s wish list as he hopes to provide solid competition for Olivier Giroud.
Pato, 26, has stated he wants to make a move back to Europe after he moved to Brazil in 2013.
Edu Gasper who is now the Director of football in Corinthians has revealed that Wenger asked about a couple of Corinthians player and Pato was one of them.
Edu who has a good relationship with Wenger dating back to his playing days ar Arsenal stated:
‘I wasn’t there to tout him around but if people ask about him, I’m going to answer,’ said the former Arsenal midfielder.
‘I talked and they asked questions – not just about him, but about a few of our players. They know them well.
‘I had lunch with Arsene Wenger and he asked about [Pato] and about others.
Pato has been linked with a move to a number of Premier league sides with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham following the striker.
Manchester United tried to sign Pato last summer but failed with a transfer deadline day bid for the forward.
