Arsenal are reportedly set to make a shock move for a South Korean star as having been impressed by the playing during a scouting trip last week.

This player is Kwon Kyung-won, a Korean central defender who is currently playing his trade in the Chinese Super League.

Tianjin Quanjian is the club he plays for and is currently impressing within the Chinese top flight.

While it is not entirely clear what the player could actually bring to Arsenal, he does have time on his side at 25-years-old.

Arsenal have made only one defensive signing when they added former Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac for free

Even still, this is hardly a transfer that could get the Emirates off their seats if someone like Shkodran Mustafi was to leave the club.

This is also not the first time the north London club have been linked with a move for Kwon Kyung-won.

They have actually been tracking him for a little while and were reportedly one of three Premier League clubs were interested to sign him in summer of 2016.

Arsene Wenger could well finally get his man but it is safe to say that Arsenal fans will not be best pleased with the quality being brought in.
