Arsenal are set to sign former Napoli and Palermo striker from Paris Saint Germain, according to reports.

After an abject by Arsenal’s strikers Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, the pressure for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to get a new striker has seemingly increased.

Arsenal have seen the likes of Chuba Akpom, Yaya Sanogo and Lukas Podolski leave the club this summer, and even Joel Campbell looks set to leave with Wenger not trusting him enough to bring him off the bench when Arsenal’s attack was yet again almost non-existent against Newcastle.

With Danny Welbeck currently injured, to add to the list, Arsenal is now looking for a World class striker before the window shuts down.

Karim Benzema was their initial target, but the Frenchman turned down a move to the Emirates, and now attentions have sifted to PSG’s Edinson Cavani, with the Uruguayan looking likely to be available due to his open displeasure at being made to play on the left wing.

Fresh reports claim Wenger was spotted on board a plane to Paris, and Cavani being the reason for his trip.

The reports also claim that Wenger would complete a stunning transfer record smashing deal for the 28-year-old striker with less than 20 hours till the transfer window is shut.

He shouldn’t be so difficult to prize out of Paris, and he would represent a huge acquisition for the club.
